On January 1, 1900, I was (as most people are) born. The name I was given at that time was Michael Daemon Donighal. My father, Patrick Donighal, was a Harvard professor. At the age of seven, I first made the acquaintance of Maxwell Anderson Mercer, when he became one of my father's students.

In the summer of 1922, I accompanied Max to London, for Dr. Sir Calvin Hammersmith's demonstration of his Telluric Engine. When the Engine exploded, destroying Hammersmith's manor house and bathing the survivors in pseudoaetheric energies, I was transformed into a physical and mental marvel known as Dr. Primoris. Max selected me as one of the founding members of the Æon Society for Gentlemen, the organization of "Inspired" he would create to break down all barriers to humanity's potential.

I believed that Æon should take a more direct role in guiding the destiny of the human race. The rest of the Society disagreed. In 1943, the disagreement became open conflict. Michael Donighal and Dr. Primoris both died in the battle that resulted, and the terrible angel known as Divis Mal was born.

For the next half-century, I schemed in secret, and the post-Mercer Æon counterschemed, to control history. I wished to Inspire the world; they sought a monopoly on Inspiration, and even on the knowledge that Inspiration existed. In 1998, I worked out how to create more superhumans like myself, and the Nova Age began.

"Homo sapiens novus, I know your worth, I sense your frustration, and I have seen your destiny; hear me now." With those words, on October 31, 2005 of my former timeline, I made my existence known to the world at large, delivering the nova-separatist (and, to a great extent, nova-supremacist) diatribe that came to be known as the Null Manifesto. It was the public debut of an ideological affinity I'd been nurturing in secret for years — the Teragen, the omen-bearers.

It wasn't until a few years later that relations between novas and baselines started to go downhill, and it took a long time to hit rock bottom. The UN didn't formally declare war on Homo sapiens novus until 2049, but the "Aberrant War" had been brewing for a long time before.

It all came definitely and bodaciously to a head in 2061, when China turned its orbital anti-aberrant defense platforms on the Earth, expressing their intent to scorch the planet themselves rather than let my species damage it any further. I remembered, then, something Max had told me back in 1924. He'd warned that I might one day hold humanity's fate in my hands, and hoped that I'd have the guts to let them survive and prosper on their own terms. So I did, taking those novas loyal to me off the Earth, into a Personal Space where we could concentrate on real spiritual advancement.

In 2122, a fundamental disturbance of the space-time continuum drew me out of my Personal Space. Attempting to return to Earth of that time, I found myself in 2004, on an Earth that knew nothing of the Æon Society or Homo sapiens novus. Attempting to return from that Earth, I found myself in milliways_bar. What will come of that, I don't yet know. But I'm looking forward to it.
